LATEST INFO ON THE ROYAL VAUXHALL TAVERN

The Royal Vauxhall Tavern has been put up to auction by Lambeth Council, and today, the 20 September, was sold for 1million 85 thousand pounds. The purchasers so far remain unnamed, but are supported by the current leaseholder. We have been assured that it will stay gay and that we are "safe". I was at the auction this afternoon, and there was a fierce bidding war between the successful bidder and two women who I later found out were bidding on behalf of a foreign buyer. They assured me that if they had bought it, it would NOT have remained a gay pub and they had other plans for the site. Little did I know we came very close to losing the Tavern forever. I don't know much about the people who have bought it, but as and when I get more information, I'll let you know. DUCKIE WILL BE OPEN THIS SATURDAY!!!! See you there..... x x amy lamé
